Abstract
n There are a number of alternative options for
managing objects using Java and a database.
These include JDBC™ and SQLj with Object-
Relational Databases and interfaces supported
by the Object-Oriented Database vendors. This
presentation will compare and contrast these
various approaches. We will also discuss a
number of ways to manage XML with a
database system. In particular, we will focus on
Object-Oriented Databases, Native XML
Databases and Object-Relational Databases
